Bill Hunt | Interesting. Dragon just announced the Chinese Long March 2F T1 (Tiangong-1) booster... |
cspg | Dragon announced today the Long March CZ 2F: |
arjuna | Nice. Let's hope they produce a Shenzhou in 1:72 as well. |

I agree with the latter. 1:400 is miniscule. I have a 1:300 LM 2F and even it looks pretty puny. |
Robert Pearlman | Here is the Long March 2F T1 (Tiangong-1) in its finished form: |
Jay Chladek | Well, Dragon models years ago has already done the Long March CZ-2E and CZ-2F Shenzou boosters as 1/48 scale kits (I have the CZ-2F myself and used to own the 2E). You want to have a BIG booster and have a little bit of modeling skill, this is the model for you! Granted both models have been out of production for a few years, but I don't think the prices for them on the secondary market have hit absurd levels. Dang, if I had kept my 2E, I could have pretty easily converted it into the Tiangong-1 launcher. Ahh well. |

I'm really interested in scale coherence between models (rockets and aircrafts) for scale comparison. Miniscule? Depends where you live or how much shelf space you have! |
cycleroadie | The CZ-2F-T1 Rocket (Chang Zheng2F) TianGong-1 hit the coast today, your preferred supplier should have them in stock soon. |
OLDIE | As no one else has mentioned the Chinese rockets yet (as far as I know) may I ask a question? What is the difference (in use) between the two CZ-2F models since they have different shrouds? Editor's note: Threads merged. |
cspg | One carries a Soyuz-type capsule and the other a space station module. |
OLDIE | Thanks for that. Not unlike the Skylab programme, though two different rockets were used in that case. Now there's an idea for Dragon! Why not a complete stack of Saturn 1B, launch table and tower together with the Saturn V and Skylab assembly? |
